Break the Silence, Build Confidence

Transforming from a silent girl to be an active and fully confident entrepreneur, Ms. Chanthary, age 27, born in Kratie, started a business called “Mom Main Industry” processing and selling Aloevera juice in 2018.

As a team leader and co-founder of her startup business, she had to ensure that the business ran well with good entrepreneurial and business management.

“I was not confident to lead my start-up from the beginning, as I lacked the skills to manage the business. I was quiet and shy, the nature of countryside girl, and I looked for skills and support to improve myself and my team in doing business” Chanthary said. she added. “Luckily, I got to know WE-Act and YEAC through the YEAC Facebook page. So, I joined the program and participated in many trainings including receiving mentoring”

Through her involvement in the program and project activities, Chanthary felt that she was more empowered and better equipped with both soft and technical skills, especially on entrepreneurship and marketing. Chanthary mentioned that she increased her confidence and is braver to meet and network with others for her business.

“It is a big change in my life. I can break through my silence and being more mature to lead my business,” she said.

She feels blessed being able to join the WE-Act project. She received training and met her mentor and was supported by senior women entrepreneurs and influencers. She was surprised about her changes. Now, she can raise her ideas to not only in her team but also in a meeting with high-ranking officials.

For instance, she was selected as YWEs representative to talk with H.E. Dr. Chea Vandeth, Minister of Ministry of Post and Telecommunications (MPTC) and her request was considered and approved by H.E minister to provide US$100Ks to YEAC for supporting technologies to young entrepreneurs especially Young Women Entrepreneurs. She also developed a clear business plan, gained more marketing skills, created an attractive company logo, and was able to maintain her business operation and increased sales for her company. She has been building a network and with more than 300 YWEs. With her professional and entrepreneurial improvement, Chanthary was appointed to be the Board of Director of her company by all the shareholders.

With YEAC, she was selected to be a vice-chair of 2 committees within YEAC 1) Committee on Young Women Entrepreneurs and 2) Committee on Agriculture, Agri-Business, Agro-Industry, Handicrafts and Light Manufacturing. She mentioned that WE-Act activities have benefited her beyond her expectation.

“It has been an incredible transformation for me. YWEs need to find the motivation to start the Entrepreneur Journey and career with a mentor and supporters from other successful Women Entrepreneurs” she advised to other YWEs.

She is grateful to WE-Act and YEAC for building her to be the real strong her and she shares the information on WE Act with other YWEs and continues to participate for her professional growth and business development.
