Facebook digital marketing trainers

11 Cambodian Facebook digital marketing trainers ready to train 1,700 young women entrepreneurs.

Phnom Penh – 20 January 2021: Cambodian Facebook Digital Marketing Trainers are ready to deliver high-quality training to 1,700 young women entrepreneurs by early 2023 through #SheMeansBusiness to boost their business, under Pact’s WE Act project partnering with Facebook.

By the end of 2020, around 600 women entrepreneurs benefited from online and offline digital marketing training to boost their business. The one-day training provides insight in basic online marketing, creating a business Facebook Page, and good content and practices, supporting them with know-how to start and grow their businesses through the use of online platforms, which have a lot of business-growth potential.

#SheMeansBusiness  is a new program that aims to train 1,700 Cambodian women entrepreneurs on digital marketing skills by 2023. It was launched in December 2019 and will empower women entrepreneurs across the country to grow their businesses by taking advantage of Cambodia’s growing digital economy. Through a series of workshops, training sessions and online resources, #SheMeansBusiness will arms women entrepreneurs with the knowledge, connections, skills and technology required to build and grow their business online.

The initiative runs in partnership with USAID’s WE Act project which is managed by Pact. We Act connects young women entrepreneurs to the knowledge, tools and resources necessary to succeed in the marketplace. The launch event was attended by over 100 participants from the US Embassy, government ministries, development partners, NGOs, and women associations.

Under this partnership, Facebook and Pact have developed a set of localized training modules to train, coach and certify 11 qualified trainers and aim to train the 1,700 young women entrepreneurs.

At the end of 2019, WE Act proudly announced the launch of Facebook’s Digital Marketing Training for Women Entrepreneurs. In August 2020, four trainers graduated for the first time from the program after receiving Training of Trainer and were qualified with requirements from Facebook.

Today (20 Jan), We are excited to celebrate the second graduation of seven digital marketing trainers for #SheMeansBusiness. WE Act organized this graduation event to celebrate their hard work and afford in bringing this high-quality Digital Marketing training for young women entrepreneurs in Cambodia.

The objective of the networking event is to celebrate Cambodian Digital Marketing Trainers who are qualified by Facebook and graduated and to provide update of the progress and result of WE Act’s Digital Marketing Training. It also aims to network between the first and second round trainers and young women entrepreneurs.

We are excited to partner with Facebook to introduce #SheMeansBusiness in Cambodia,” noted Sabine Joukes, Pact Cambodia Country Director and WE Act Chief of Party. “With the support from USAID, the program will help women learn how to start and grow their businesses through the use of online platforms which has a lot of potential to make a business successful.”

The partnership between Facebook and Pact is unique and showcases how development and private sector entities can work together towards common objectives to reach better results.

Cambodia’s economy is growing rapidly – 7% annually – but this growth has not been equitable, leaving women and their economic prospects behind. While women own more than 60% of all businesses, 99% of those are micro enterprises (up to 10 employees) indicating a huge untapped potential to contribute to the Cambodian economy. The discrepancy points to a big opportunity to comprehensively support the growth of women as economic actors. Women tend to share economic prosperity with their families and communities in ways that drive development in areas beyond livelihoods, such as health and education.

When women do better, we all benefit, said Ruici Tio, Policy Program Manager APAC (Asia Pacific Countries) at Facebook. #SheMeansBusiness will not only connect entrepreneurial women with empowering tools, peers and networks, but will also raise greater awareness of the importance of women’s entrepreneurship for overall economic and social development. Alongside with Pact, we are closer to making Cambodia an even better place for women to start and run a business.”

Facebook is encouraging people to celebrate inspiring women who run small businesses in Cambodia by sharing business pages, photos and videos of these women to their Facebook timeline using the hashtag, #SheMeansBusiness. These are the women who turn their passion into business and who have a profound impact on their families, their communities, their economy, and the world.  Access info and get inspired at www.shemeansbusiness.fb.com
